Once the data is in the access router, it already has the internet protocol data and it can be sent efficiently through the desired path. The selection of the internet protocol is based on the load on that internet protocol address and the shortest possible path to the destination. In the early times routers were connected via a LAN cable to the devices that are on the network but now-a-days the routers are connected via the Wi-Fi.
